Technical Lead

New Products and Design

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced tooling specialist/designer to join our Development Engineering team. This permanent position will be well suited to an individual with a strong design background, within the Plastics Injection Moulding industry.

This well-rounded and demanding role will include a wide range of responsibilities that extend from Sales technical support, managing tool purchases, analysing new customer designs and feeding back best practice through to solving production engineering problems. In this role you will:

  • Liaise directly with customers demonstrating best practise moulding design in support of our Sales team
  • Quote new tools via our tooling partners such as suggesting cavities and press sizes
  • Manage the procurement of tooling including reviewing the tool designs and producing project plans
  • Manage our in-house 3D printer and work closely with production to design and print jigs and fixtures that improve our processes

You will be working with a diverse team of experts in our technical, production, and sales teams which all will be working toward the same goal; world class customer experience.

About you

  • Experienced in completing DFM reports including moldflow/warp analysis
  • Strong background in designing production plastic injection mould tooling
  • Experienced in creating designs for mods, fixtures, assemblies, production equipment etc. for in-house use
  • Experienced in quoting tool modifications for tools that need repair
